Bugs New Obsession

Gentry is obsessed with swinging - that's all she wants to do. From the minute she wakes up to the minute she goes to bed she wants to swing or play on the slide. We go to the park a lot or play at our neighbors every night. We drive down the street and if she sees a swing set - she won't quit asking if she can swing until we take her to swing.

Bubba just loves anything we take him to do.

He's so cute - he loves shoulder rides!

She does too - but you can't tell because she's serious all the time.

They have a fun aunt and uncle - they get shoulder rides at the same time!

(I always call her Bug or Buggy and she started telling me this week - Mama not bug - it's Gintrey! Yes, she says her name like Gin. I tell her I know you're name and it's Gentry!)

We had such a great weekend. It was fun having nice warm weather. We took the kids on a long walk. We needed her to wash her wheels before we headed out so dad had her wash it.... Not really! Dad was washing our cars and he thought it would be great for Buggy to wash her bike. She did such a great job with it too!

We took a sisters trip to New York. I had to go for work, but we ended up making a big trip out of it. We had so much fun. As Ayzia would say, "all we do is eat and shop." I went to American Girl Place and got Gentry and Itty Bitty Twin. I got a few matching outfits. I think that store is so much fun. We spent over an hour in there. We walked the Brooklyn Bridge, went to the Empire State Building, walked to Central Park and road the subways most places. We started to know the city then it was time to leave! Thanks sisters!

I feel like I have a "built-in" best friend for life. To say we go "way back" pretty much sums it up. From sharing the TV, bathroom and clothing...To negotiating chores...and "co-experiencing" family dinners, vacations and chaos.

For as long as I can remember...you were there. Oh...we've had some pretty good fights, haven't we? Somtimes I wasn't sure we'd EVER forgive each other, but we always did. Until the next blow out. I love how our friendship grows and changes with time.

Thank you for all the ways you've been there for me...playmate, teacher, confidante, cheerleader and friend. Publicist, therapist and defense attorney, too. I know my feelings are safe with you.

I admire you. Your spirit, strength and wisdom. Your crazy sense of humor.

Sometimes I wish I could be more like you... but then I'd miss out cherishing you for who you are. And how my life is enriched because of you.

I love that we're family. I love that we're connected.

Our sweet baby girl turns 2 today! It's bittersweet. We all love having her in our lives, but she's growing up way too fast. She brings SO much joy to our lives and I love seeing her smiling face every single morning. As you know, I have an extra ticket for the Billy Joel/Elton John concert. Since all of you were interested, I decided to have a little contest and the winner will get a free ticket to the show (a $200 value). The concert is on Friday, February 19 at 7:30, at the Energy Solutions Arena.

I decided that the contest will be that you guys write a poem. It has to include something about Spring, pianos and Billy Joel and Elton John. Seeing Cash in these pictures made me realize he's not a newborn anymore, but he'll always be our baby boy! He is such a handsome guy - we are so lucky to have him in our lives. He sleeps through the night, started rice cereal for the first time yesterday. (January 25, 2010) Laughs so hard whenever his sister enters the room and when dad enters he puts on the biggest smile! Gentry is so sweet to to her "Bubba!" She just loves to give him hugs and kisses. She always wants to hold him. He thinks she's so funny - she'll sing and dance and he'll laugh like I've never heard him laugh before. When Tyson and I play with him he'll giggle, but when Gentry plays with him it's just different. I LOVE how much they love one another ...already! It's only going to get better! (P.S. We had such a great Christmas this year! It was so fun watching Gentry opening all her presents and her "bu-ba's" (she calls him that, but she's trying to say brother). Every present she would open she would say, "thank you" it was so cute! This year was great because Gentry understood that opening a present meant you would get a gift. I know every year will get more and more fun! I put a lot of pictures of Christmas because I didn't want to have to pick and choose which ones I put on our blog. I might not change the background, the font or do anything special to the blog, but I do lots of pictures. My main reason for this blog is to turn it into a book. My little own scrapbook. I am late blogging - It gets hard working full time and having two babies under the age of 2 years old...but here it is!

Tyson and I are so thankful for our kids and their health. We just treasure every moment with them. They make us laugh so much - from Gentry not caring too much for her brother to wanting to hug and kiss him all the time. Cash loves when people talk to him and he just laughs and smiles all the time. He has the cutest dimples I've ever seen. Gentry thinks she so funny wearing Papa and Nanny's eye glasses. Gentry and cousin Hudson play so well together. He is such a cute boy. They love playing with the wine corks and this picture I caught them in the act. I love being able to share our family stories and memories with everyone.

We took the kids to the Utes game - it was the black out game. Gentry of course had a blast. She got to run around, eat candy, cookies and chips - her favorite. Dad and I didn't give her all that stuff. If you can see in the pictures. It was Papa and Nanny. Once we got to the game I didn't see much of Cash. Everyone was passing him around. I only got to capture a few pictures of him. The last picture of Gentry crying with cute Heidi is sad because we told her to say bye because we were leaving and she wasn't having it. It was quit the production to get the kids up there, but Tyson was so happy that we did. He just loved having his family at the game.

P.S. - in case you're wondering about Tyson's mustache he was growing it out for his Halloween costume.

Gentry loves her little baby brother. It's so cute to hear her try and say his name and she just loves to give him kisses! Gentry loves to call me by my first name and then I'll say, "I'm mama" and she'll point to herself and say, "I'm mama!" It's pretty cute!

Cash loves when you talk to him. He laughed for the first time (out loud) on November 6th. He smiles all the time and tries to talk to us! I just love my little buddy!

We went to the pumpkin patch with the kids. It was so much fun doing this as a family. Gentry just loves going and we're sure Cash will too when he's old enough to run around.

Gentry went Trick or Treating with my cute neighbor. It was pretty cute because Gentry realized if you said something you would get something put in your bag (or her Dora back pack). She would hear Kailee say, "trick or treat" so Gentry started saying "trick trick!" When she got home she was so excited about all of her candy. She started digging through it and picking up a few things she wanted to have. It was so cute because I remember doing that when I was little.

Gentry went to school for the first time today. She's a Turtle and she there are 5 other turtles in her class. This picture broke my heart. It was such a big day for me. I knew this day would come and I wasn't going to like it. Tyson and I have been talking for months and months about getting her into a Child Development Program. I'm very lucky to work for Intermountain Healthcare and having the opportunity to take Gentry to their school. It's a great program and they do a lot of enrichment activities. There are lesson plans and activities they do throughout the day. I was suppose to take her yesterday, but wanted one more day. It was so cute when we walked in because all the other kids knew she was new and a little nervous. This cute little guy said, "HEY" and this other little girl gave her a toy. She was hugging me so tight around my neck and would pat and scratch my back. I didn't want to let her go. The minute I got out of her class room I started to cry. I called 3 times and asked how she was doing; they went on a walk and did some hand paintings today. Gentry is a picky eater and wouldn't eat any food except Gold Fish! Luckily it's only 3 days a week and she's 2 blocks away from me.

Gentry got this bear for Christmas and she sings "Wind beneath my Wings" by Bette Midler. So, her baby's name is Bette. She feeds her whatever she's eating and will put her in the car seat, boppy pillow, boppy chair and will even try and burp her. After Gentry went down for her nap I started picking up the house. I found Bette sitting in her Dora chair with a grape in her mouth. It was so funny!

We went to Thanksgiving Point with my cute friend/neighbor Stephanie and Kailee. We had so much fun getting out of the house and having lunch in the park there. Gentry wasn't too sure about the pony ride, but I think she had fun anyway. Cash was such a great baby. He just kicked his little feet and moving his arms. I'm pretty sure that meant he was excited to be there.

I knew from the minute I found out I was pregnant that I wanted to do "the" room in airplanes. I knew in my heart that I was having a boy - just like I knew Gentry was a girl. Call it mothers intuition. The day we had the ultrasound and they said "it's a boy" I bought his bedding set.

Gentry Jace turned 18 months old. She's such a funny, cuddly little girl. She has been so much for fun for our families. I am very grateful that she has come into our lives. She makes life so much more fun. I've been taking her to My Gym and they sing songs, play games and they have toys for the little kids. Her eyes light up when we go there. I wish I could see the world through her big brown eyes. I love you baby girl!!

If a picture could say a thousand words, Gentry's next few pictures would say it all. It would say how she's been feeling since we brought baby brother Cash home. It's been quite an adjustment for all of us. Gentry has to be right next to me when I'm feeding Cash or holding him. She's been very whiny and demands attention. Cash has been a great baby. He eats and sleeps great. He isn't fussy and likes to be left a lone while sleeping. Now that it's been almost 3 weeks and Gentry isn't as whiny and gives her baby brother kisses.

Cash Kevin Casper made his arrival on August 7th at 7:16 AM, weighing in at 6 LBS 13 Oz and 19 1/2 inches long. He is such a sweet little baby. So, I was at work that day and was having a lot of back pain and started having cold sweats. I picked up the phone to call Tyson and tell him to keep his phone near because I think he's coming, but I didn't want to cry wolf. So I held off. I did text Alicia and tell her "I think he's coming today!" I left work early and headed to the doctors office for my appointment. He checked me and told me I was dilated to a 1 and I probably still had a good 2 weeks left. I left his office very sad and disappointed. I called Tyson and told him that this little guy was going to stay in until Thanksgiving. I swear he was holding on for dear life. We went about the night as usual. Gentry running the house and making us chase her. We headed to bed and I always go potty before bed. We turned the lights out and off to bed we went. Then I thought..I had to pee again. So, I stood up and my water broke. I was standing there thinking; "maybe I had to pee really bad and just peed my pants... I told Tyson, "I think my water broke." I was still standing in the same spot in the dark. I didn't know what to do. The first thing that crossed my mind was my little princess. She was sound asleep and by this time the next day she would have a little brother. I called my mom and sisters and off they came to my house to watch the Bug. My mom said to call her when I was to a 5 and she would head to the hospital. I went from a 5 to a 10 in 30 minutes. My mom didn't make it. It was 3 pushes and 5 minutes later our little miracle was here.

I want to thank my sisters for such an amazing shower. It was so much fun. It started out as a luncheon with my family and close friends....but then Alicia decided to go all out. We had a candy bar which was so fun. You can build a bag of candy...Yum Yum! I did our little guys room in airplanes, with red, white and blue. On the wall it'll say Born to Fly and look at how cute the cake is. Here are just some of the pictures; I wanted to post them all, but I only picked out some... I love the picture of my belly being measure with yarn because Gentry is right there helping. So cute! I want to thank everyone who came and made my day so much fun.

17 Months

Gentry Jace is 17 months old! Can you believe how big she's getting..? She's so funny! She is brushing her own teeth now. She has 10 and one more cutting through. She only wants her dada, if he's home she wants nothing to do with me. We went grocery shopping and to save time Tyson and I will split up. I was down an aisle with her and Tyson went to grab a few things. He found us and I didn't even see him yet and she kept pointing, yelling dada, dada, dada and waving her arm. It was so funny. She was SO excited that she saw him and didn't want him to not see us. We just love her more than anything.

1. We can't sleep through the night... but can nap anytime during the day sitting straight up.
2. We need help bathing
3. We have to take our time getting up to avoid dizziness
4. We can't walk, it's more of a slow waddle
5. We live in fear of falling in the shower
6. We get grumpy when its past meal time
7. Our backs and hips always hurt
8. Crowds part when we are walking through them
9. Men are so much more helpful
10. Family members remind us to keep our cell phones close so we can call for help to go to the hospital.
11. We see the doctor more than most friends

Her Papa sent me this photo that he took of Treebug over the weekend. She LOVES flowers. Nanny taught her to smell the flowers, but she thinks when you smell the flowers you blow on them and then tear off the pedals.

We had so much fun over the 4th of July weekend! Tyson had 9 days off in a row and we played everyday! We took Gentry to the pool by my moms and she loved to splash around and run back and forth from mama to dada! Thanks to my cute little family to go with us for her first public pool experience.

She has them both wrapped around her little finger!

Our Treebug turns 16 months today! She loves playing peek-a-boo with her dad, loves to dance, pull all my flowers out of my flower beds, says wuff-wuff when we ask her what sound a doggie makes, she says Mama, rubs her belly because she sees me rubbing mine all the time, loves patty cake, ring around the rosie, she can give high-five, and knows where her nose is and "yours." When you ask her where her nose is she puts her in finger in her nose.... When you ask her where your nose is.... Yes, you guessed it. She puts her finger in your nose too.

Treebug is so much fun! She has grown so much the last couple of months. She definitely knows how to get her way. She does a fake cry and squints her eyes so it looks as if she can't see. Then if you give her what she wants she's all laughs and smiles. She must get it from her dad!

Gentry and Cousin Hudson go to the same babysitter, which is Aunt Cami's sister-in-law, Bekah! She is so great with her! I just love that my bug can be with her cousin all day. When I drop Gentry off and Hudson sees us walk through the door he is nothing but smiles! They watch Dora together and hold hands! How cute are they!?!

My Girlfriend is 15 months today!!

We took Gentry to the park over the weekend, she just loves the park. I can't believe she's 15 months already! Time flies! I still like to hold her like a baby and she thinks it's pretty funny! Just over the last month I saw such a big difference in her. She understands a lot more and tries her little heart to talk. She loves animal sounds and playing in the water with her dad. They run around the yard; playing in the water. If she's outside with dad I usually have to change her clothes 3 times a day.

So, Gentry is at an age where she is very clingy and only wants her mom. She gets a little jealous if she sees me holding another baby or showing afffection to anyone, but her! I was holding her cousin Hudson and thought it would be fine because she was busy with a balloon her Granny bought her. The minute she saw that I had him in my arms, she runs up and does this death grip around my neck. She wanted Hudson to know that "I'm hers!" It'll be very fun when our lil' guy gets here to see how she does.

Lake Powell

We went camping for 5 days to Lake Powell and I'm sad to say there isn't ONE picture of me. I took all the pictures and when I started posting these pictures I noticed I'm not in any of them! I'm very sad about it!

I had such a great Mother's Day. I got to celebrate the whole weekend. Tyson made me breakfast Saturday and Sunday. I got a pedicure, my car washed inside and out (what a task for Tyson), Flowers, a gift card to a spa for an amazing massage. AND I got to spend the weekend with my 2 favorite people...and my little guy in my belly kicking me all weekend.

As you can all see her binki is attached to her car seat. We have two binki's, but one is always attached to her car seat. I was making dinner and Gentry was walking all around the house making a lot of noise. I didn't hear her for a minute so I went to see what she was doing. She was lying down next to her car seat with her binki in her mouth and watching Dora. I ran to get the camera, but by that time she had moved positions. So, the picture you see is; she's sitting up, binki in her mouth and still watching Dora! It was the cutest thing ever! I guess she couldn't find her other binki so this was her last resort!
